ABUJA—The management of Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC, said, yesterday, it has installed 88,000 metres, to be followed with another 120,000 units by December to address complaints on estimated billing.
Managing Director of the company, Engr. Ernest Mupwaya, who disclosed this at the opening of a two- day workshop on energy theft for judges within the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, said the company was determined to metre all its customers.
According to him, “the issue slowing down metering is funding, but we have found a way round it.
“The wholesale (generation) tariff has increased by 100 percent since privatisation. On the retail side, the increase is only 16 percent so there is already a big deficit.”
