The bustling community of Ajah, Lekki Peninsula, Lagos, will today play host to the 27th edition of the cross country Laffta Fest comedy Concert, sponsored by telecoms firm Globacom.

The comedy concert tour, which began in April 2017, has so far covered 26 Nigerian cities, taking along the funniest of Nigerian stand up comedians.

In a pre-event release from Globacom, the company stated that this weekend’s show will hold at the KFA Event Centre by Jakande Estate First Gate on Lekki – Epe Express Way. It will kick off at 4pm and will feature some of the wittiest comics on the continent, such as Bovi Ugboma, Godwin Komone, popularly known as Gordons, Seyi Law, Salvador from Uganda, De Don and MC Tagwaye.

The comedy fiesta has been very successful, enlivening the cities it had crisscrossed, bringing laughter and fun to individuals and families alike.

According to Globacom, to attend the Ajah show, Glo subscribers who have used up to N2,000 credit in the last one month are required to text ‘LOL’ with the location name to the short code 240; for example, “LOL Ajah” to 240. Subscribers who do not meet this criterion but who wish to attend the show are requested to go to the event venue with N2000 to purchase airtime for their own use.

Some of the cities the show has been to include Abuja, Enugu, Owerri, Warri, Yenegoa, Calabar, Uyo, Ibadan, Benin, Ijebu Ode, Kaduna, Abeokuta, Kubwa, Ikorodu, Suleja, Kano, Anyigba, Lokoja, Onitsha and Makurdi.

The Ajah show will also feature  Nollywood legends, Richard Mofe-Damijo and Kanayo O. Kanayo, as well as two of the best known actors in the Yoruba genres of Nollywood, Odunlade Adekola and Bolaji Amusan. Actresses Juliet Ibrahim and Mercy Johnson will also be there.
