By Bala Ajiya

DAMATURU— Saidu Baba, the member representing Nangere constituency in Yobe State House of Assembly, has debunked rumours of fake drugs circulating in Potiskum Local Government Area of the state.

He was reacting to claims by a House of Representatives’ member that youths usually visit patent medicine stores for unwholesome drugs.

According to him, the state government is doing its best in the provision of health care delivery, which led to the establishment of health institutions across the state.

His words: “Over N20 million naira free drugs are being distributed to hospitals for pregnant women and children from zero to five years in major hospitals of Damaturu, Potiskum, Gashua, Gaidam and Nguru.”

He noted that only the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, has the responsibility to clampdown on unlicensed medicine stores.
