THE outcome of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, appeal panel that upheld the primary that produced Mr. Oseloka Obaze has led to jubilation among his supporters, with the candidate himself expressing delight at the development.

Obaze’s camp had been apprehensive over the matter as some of those who lost at the primary were proving too difficult to appease.

But following the decision of the party to dismiss the petitions in favour of Obaze, his campaign team said weekend that they would be better focused to begin the campaign.

The candidate, in a statement yesterday said: “I am elated and thankful that the National Caretaker Committee of our great party, PDP, has upheld the outcome of the 28 August 2017 primary elections that produced me as the candidate of the party for the November 18, 2017 governorship election in Anambra State.

“I salute the leadership of the party for listening carefully to all expressed concerns and dealing exhaustively with all related petitions before arriving at its findings. I salute all those involved in the ongoing conciliation efforts. Such due process measures reaffirm the democratic ideals and the vibrancy of the internal workings of our party and the leadership’s commitment to charting a new course.
