SCIENCE teachers and students in public and private schools have been programmed to earn income in the course of teaching and learning through participation in Science Teachers’ Game.
Chief Promoter of MRLABSS, Mr. Patrick Ejike Ochuba, who disclosed this at a media launch in Lagos said that the essence of the academic game was to boost the passion for science among students and teachers.
He explained that the Science Teachers’ Game was designed to connect with the Nigerian secondary school science teachers and students across all public and private schools, noting, “we want to expose science teachers to two sources of income, one from their employers and two from the Science Teachers’ Game.”
According to him, by participating in the game, science teachers would earn more money as they perform more science practical with their students. He urged teachers that while earning more money, they should create targets for themselves by aiming to be the best in their chosen subject areas, adding that the best Biology, Chemistry and Physics teachers, students and school managers at the end of the 2017/18 academic season would be rewarded with three brand new IVM cars, 60 million naira and all-expense-paid-trip to Dubai.
He disclosed that the Science Teachers Game is open to both public and private secondary schools in Nigeria, stressing that registration is free for all science teachers and students.
He said: “The Science Teachers’ Game is brought to you by MRLABSS and supported by Fidelity Bank, Konga, Systemtech and Innoson Motors. Science Teachers Game is available for registration at www.assppaa.com.”
He further explained that the new concept would be innovative, interesting and full of fun for both teachers and students, adding that Science Teachers do not need to go elsewhere to play this game, but would just need to remain in their classrooms, engage their students actively in science experiments and showcase their activities on the Assppaa-ISBORS portal.
“The Science Teachers’ Game was designed to enhance the life styles of science school teachers and students and to reposition them to start earning more money just like other professionals in banking, telecommunication, oil and gas and other blue chip companies.”
On why students run away from sciences, he said: “We have got a solution to a few of teachers problems. We want teachers to earn more money and have better lifestyles.”
On how it works, he said: “We have got a software and technology-Assppaa-ISBORS that connects with the teachers, captures their classroom activities with their students, measures and quantifies their skills, intelligence and frequency of activities and pays teachers money per every activities they successfully carry out in the classroom.”
