BIRNIN KEBBI—KEBBI State government has concluded arrangements for its radio and television stations to go digital as soon as Governor Abubakar Bagudu gives approval.
Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Musa Kalgo, who disclosed this to newsmen yesterday in Birnin Kebbi, said already a proposal to buy the modern equipment was before the governor, awaiting his approval.
“As soon as we get the approval, the ministry will make the supply of the equipment and install them,” Kalgo added.
He noted that Nigeria had gone far in terms of technology, stressing that the two stations with old technology needed to be equipped with modern technology.
On Culture, the commissioner disclosed that his ministry had sought approval again from the governor to recruit more talented artists.
Kalgo further disclosed that government had assisted two Federal Government-owned stations, Equity FM and NTA, located in the state capital, Birnin Kebbi, with funds when their stations were damaged as result of theft and windstorm.
