The Chief Missioner of Al-Wahabu Mosque, Ota, Ogun State, Sheikh Ibraheem Akinola has described the All Progressives Congress, APC, government in Lagos State under leadership of Governor Akinwumi Ambode as an “all inclusive and non-discriminatory government.”
The cleric said this during an interaction with newsmen in Lagos at the weekend where he stated that, “Ambode’s style of governance has made Lagos State a home for all and sundry irrespective of their religion, ethnicity, political leaning and social status.”
According to him, besides the fact that he accommodates other tribes in his cabinet, all his social welfare schemes, infrastructural development programmes and security facilities are well spread and evenly distributed.
Commenting on a second term for the governor, Akinola said; “I am not a politician but I can assure you that people are watching and they are not unmindful of the performances of some governors like Ambode and Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State, who have turned their states into huge construction sites.”
Meantime, a group, Itesiwaju Ipinle Eko Vanguard, has expressed support for the re-election bid of Governor Ambode for a second term in 2019.
The group, made up of social activists, non-governmental organisations, artisans, political groups, youths and Ndigbo movement, made the declaration at the inauguration of its 57 coordinators in the 20 local councils and 37 Local Council Development Areas across the state, made the call weekend.
Speaking at the event, General Coordinator of the group, Seyi Bamigbade, said the governor’s dedication to duty coupled with the enormous developmental projects and his desire to make the state a better place to live, has automatically earned him a second term in office.
Urging his colleagues to mobilise support for the governor’s re-election in 2019, Bamigbade disclosed that Ambode as a trail blazer and innovative forerunner had changed the state and taken it to a desirable elevation.
He added that winning the 2019 governorship election will enable him complete developmental projects, which he had already embarked on as well as complement the existing ones.
