WARRI—The Itsekiri National Youth Council, INYC, has pleaded with the federal government to urgently resume work on the Export Processing Zone, EPZ, Escravos in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, to tackle the issue of unemployment and youth restiveness in the region.
The comrade Weyinmi Agbateyiniro-led Itsekiri apex youth body in a statement yesterday in Warri, signed by the PRO, Mr. Joseph Uwawah, said the resumption of work will address the issue of the Niger Delta resurgence, noting that most of the youths from the Presidential Amnesty skilled training Programme will be engaged in the project.

“The project which is private-sector driven, is capable of engaging over 5000 workers at the take of stage. This will go a long way in resolving the problems in the region.
“There is no doubt that when 5000 youths within the region is meaningfully engaged, the government will no longer have to spent money in securing oil facilities. This will also reflect on the daily oil production,” he added.
