Speaking soon after arriving the Akwa Ibom State Capital ahead of the crucial World Cup encounter with Nigeria, Broos said, “it’s going to be a very difficult game because we are going to play against a very good opponent that started very well in the elimination games of the World Cup. They have won two games, which we didn’t do. You can see we are in a difficult situation.

“We know before today that losing points against Nigeria is elimination from the World Cup. So in two games of Friday and Monday we need at least four points of the six. Anything less, it is finished for us. We know what to do. Don’t lose but win once.

“On the other hand it is going to be very difficult. The pressure is on us. We have to win and my team is ready to play the two games. We will try to win so that we can have the advantage when Nigeria come to play on Monday.”

The Belgian who guided the Indomitable Lions to continental glory at the 2017 AFCON in Gabon, a competition Nigeria could not qualify for said Cameroon’s experience in the Nations Cup and their unsuccessful campaign at the FIFA Confederation Cup in Russia will come to play .
