YENAGOA—Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State has congratulated the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, on the successful celebration of the 2017 Ojude-Oba festival.
Governor Dickson, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Iworiso-Markson, expressed delight that the festival brought together sons and daughters of the ancient kingdom to show the world that unity exists among them as a people.
Though the governor regretted his absence at the festival, he noted that as someone who partly hails from that land, it would have been a thing of joy to be part of the event, adding that he looks forward to next year’s fiesta.
While congratulating the entire people of Ijebuland, Dickson commended the Oba for his leadership, which, according to him, has also helped sustain peace in the kingdom.
He also thanked everyone that contributed to making the over 100-year-old festival a success.
