ASABA—DELTA State Chairman of Action Democratic Party, ADP, Chief David Ekwetefia, yesterday, said that his party will win a sizeable number of local government chairmanship and councilorship seats in the forthcoming council elections in the state.
Insisting that ADP will give the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, a good fight in the yet to be scheduled council elections, he said his party will demonstrate its readiness for future general elections during the council elections.
Ekuetafia, who spoke in Asaba during the inauguration of a 73-man State Executive Committee, promised to prove book makers wrong, urging aspirants, particularly women and youths, to take advantage of the party and fly its flag in the forthcoming council elections in the state.
Other State Executive members of the party include Mr Mike Egboh, Deputy Chairman, Mr James Igbi, Secretary, Walter Oyekepe, Treasurer, Henry Amiaya, Publicity Secretary, Mercy Hesse, Woman Leader, Zuka Ben Osogbue, Youth Leader, Joy Akoyere, Vice Woman Leader, among others.
He said that an all inclusive primary election will be conducted through the Option A4 ballot system to ensure that those who emerged as flag bearers are not only popular but very credible.
Ekwetefia said: “ADP will afford you equal opportunities to participate in the state elections provided you are of good behaviour and abide by the rules of the party as supreme by fulfilling all its requirements.
“ADP will provide a viable alternative platform, particularly for youths and women groups in the country to achieve their aspirations into public offices in the service of our father land.”
“In ADP, we have a robust selection process that guarantees confidence, transparency and internal democracy by the use and adoption of direct primaries with open secret ballot system otherwise known as Option A4 in all our internal elections,” he said.
