Kaduna State Security Council, yesterday, reminded residents in the state that the ban on street protest and procession imposed about a year ago, to protect public safety and safeguard the lives and property of citizens, was still in force.

A statement by the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Nasir el-Rufai on Media and Publicity, Samuel Aruwan, after the meeting, warned that any individual and/or group that violate(s) the ban will be prosecuted accordingly.

He said Governor el-Rufai, who presided over the meeting, thanked security agencies, traditional and religious leaders as well as other stakeholders for their contributions to peace in the state, especially with the recent developments in other states.
