Gov. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State on Wednesday, assured foreign investors that his administration would do everything possible to make the state investor friendly.
Akeredolu made the pledge during a courtesy visit by members of the Association of Foreign Investors in the state in Ondo.
“There is no other option, but to make the state investor-friendly, hence the first step of engaging Air Peace airlines.
“We want investors to come, so we decided to engage the airlines and subsidise the flight because investors do not come back due to the bad roads.
“We made that effort, so we will try to sustain it. ‘’Let people develop a taste for air travel.
“This state has a lot of resources, both underground and on top of the ground; you have our assurance that any investment in our state will be encouraged,” he said.
Earlier, Chief Peter Osadabey, the leader of the Association, described the state as the safe of its kind in the country.
He said that the association’s major objective was to ensure that more industries were established in the state.
Osadabey, however, noted that Akure as the state capital was supposed to have almost 500 industries.
“We have gone through the abundant natural resources in the state and it is overwhelming, they are so many here.
“We are very ready to work with you to unearth these natural resources that had remained untapped,” he said.
