PORT HARCOURT—Residents of some villages in Aggah community, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State have been displaced by flood.

The residents, whose homes were flooded, weekend, told Vanguard that they were already witnessing strange sicknesses and disease, adding that the community had been taken over by mosquitoes.

Chief Chukwudi Ekigbo, one of the residents, told Vanguard that the community had been flooded since ending of June, adding that the community has been experiencing flooding for the past 30 years because of oil exploration activities by Nigeria Agip Oil Company, NAOC.

Contacted, NAOC decli-ned making comment on the development, saying it is a coporate body that does not make case with its host.
