PPA governorship aspirant, Mr. Godwin Ezeemo has said that the recent desecration of spiritual proceedings at St Philips Catholic Church Ozoubulu on Sunday, 6th of August during a 6 am service was very worrisome and called for sober reflection by Igbo people.
Saying that the development was due to lack of fear of God, he observed that it happened because money was controlling the society.
“Those who indulged in this gruesome act have sold their soul and would need God’s redemption. We, from this part of the world, must lay less emphasis on money as it appears that money is our idol in Igboland and I do not know where we are heading to.”
Ezeemo urged the government to ensure that the Ozoubulu incident was treated to a positive logical conclusion to checkmate future occurrence.
He also called on the youth to engage in genuine businesses to take care of their economic and social needs, adding that the craze to get rich quick and failure of family members to ask questions on their children’s sources of overflowing wealth without a visible source of livelihood was contributing to the moral decadence.
