The pair of Seun Olawunmi and Niji Asida defeated Sadiq Abiodun and Mustapha in straight sets 7/5, 6/3 to win the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club 2017 Captain’s Blinddoubles tournament.
Club Captain Adetola Odumosun said it was his first tournament since he became captain and that there was more in the offing as his target is to organise as many competitions as possible.
He observed with happiness that the standard was very high and urged corporate companies to identify with the club’s programmes as part of their corporate social responsibility.
“We were able to achieve this with the cooperation and support of our partners, Cadbury. This is just a tip off the iceberg as more of this will be staged as we progress,” Odumosun said.
Speaking after the event, Bala Yesufu, Director Corporate and Government Affairs, Cadbury Nigeria said, his company’s relationship with the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club had been on for long and pledged their continuous commitment to the relationship.
“Cadbury identifies with good things,” he started, adding, “despite the hard times, we supported the club last year with the Walk for Life programme and we are ready to support them again this year.”
