Onuoha disclosed this during GEC’s sixth graduation and prize-giving held at the Bankers’ House Multipurpose Hall, Victoria Island, Lagos.
In his farewell speech, he charged the graduating students who will be studying abroad to always remember that Nigeria is their only country and should return after their studies to contribute positively in building and transforming the country for the benefit of all.
Describing the graduating students as knowledgeable, great thinkers, researchers, principled and open-minded, the Executive Director of the school, Mrs. Josephine Peters, said: “It is important for everyone to recognise and appreciate these traits as universal and enviable in nature because these have become inherent in all our students.
“It is my belief that all our students will make use of the opportunities and exposure the school has provided them as a platform to excel in their various disciplines of studies in Nigeria and abroad.”
In his remarks, the Director of Studies, Dr. Ghalib Fahad said: “This is a period of assessing the extent to which our educational methodology has been right and the method of conditioning our educational process from slow to very fast mode.”
He, however, acknowledged that the school has got the right formula, as their students excel in international universities.
Representative of the Lagos State Ministry of Education, Mrs. Ajoke Gbeleyi, tasked the students to be good ambassadors of Nigeria as they travel abroad for their studies. “As you embark on the next academic level, you are expected to come home with good ideas and learn good examples from leaders,” she added.
