BENIN—THE immediate past governor of Edo State, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole has described Peoples Democratic Party, PDP’s criticisms of the five-star Central Hospital Complex in the state as the “cry of people still licking their wounds from the Supreme Court defeat.”

Oshiomhole, who was reacting to the allegation by PDP that he brought in borrowed equipment to the hospital to deceive President Muhammadu Buhari into commissio-ning the project last year, said the delay in the completion was due to the scarcity of forex, which has been sorted out.
He said: “It is good news for them to agree that a new hospital has been built, because in some other statements they said there was no new hospital. I have seen PDP turn out numbers that did not make sense even to a fool as regards the amount spent on the project.
“The only point that I think is worth commenting on is when I read somewhere that we hired or borrowed equipment to bring to the hospital for the President to commission.
“The contractor, Verment, is not a one man business. Verment runs the largest hospital in Austria and is a world class hospital equipment manufacturer.
“But they just got caught in the foreign exchange crisis; they could not get enough forex order.”
