Gigi Buffon was named  Champions League Player of the Year. “My secret is that I continue to stay hungry and foolish!”

The Juventus and Italy shot-stopper received the trophy ahead of the Champions League draw in Monaco after the Bianconeri reached their second Final in three years.

“I’m really proud to receive this award at my age,” said the 39-year-old.

“The secret, if there is a secret, is I think that I continue to stay hungry and foolish. It’s the one way I continue to know how to play for the top level.”
