…For August meeting with women

OWERRI—Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the President’s wife, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, will be in Owerri tomorrow, to celebrate this year’s August Meeting with Imo women.
Also billed for the event, according to the Adviser to Imo State Governor on Women Affairs, Dr. Nnenna Ezebuiro, are wives of the other 35 governors.
Ezebuiro, who disclosed this during a press briefing in Owerri, also said that Mrs. Buhari would be the Mother of the Day, while the theme is: Women building bridges of friendship across the Niger.
“We are no longer talking about the infrastructure and social amenities. We are looking at coming together in unity. That is exactly what we need for a better Nigeria of our collective dream”, Ezebuiro said.
She noted that this year’s August Meeting theme was why Mrs. Nkechi Okorocha invited all the governors’ wives, as well as wives of the nation’s service chiefs.
Continuing, Ezebuiro said that Mrs. Okorocha will use the occasion to make Imo women know that they have a role to play towards nation building.
“At the end of the event, there will be general acceptance of responsibility by the women, towards building bridges of friendship across the Niger,” Ezebuiro said.
