The League of Patriotic Lawyers has frowned at an alleged attempt to undermine Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo,  noting that the plot is bound to fail.

Briefing newsmen, yesterday, in Lagos, chairman of the group, Mallam Abubakar Yesufu, said Osinbajo had proved that he is a competent person to handle the state of the nation.

His words: “Such conspiracy lacking constitutional basis and devoid of the peoples backing will not succeed. Prof. Osinbajo’s support for Ibrahim Magu is in tandem with President Buhari’s stand before he became ill.

“I praise Prof. Osinbajo for reflecting this sentiment because a contrary view would have portrayed the president or presidency as divided, inchoate and lacking in vision for consistent leadership.

“I commend Prof. Osinbajo’s attempts to steer the ship of state towards the safe harbour of peace and tranquility since the departure of President Buhari. He is dousing the separatist tension in the South-East; cleaning up the environment and managing the budget logjam in the Senate.

“Osinbajo has proved a competent ally and dependable acting president that is capable of handling the affairs of state of the federation.”
