The Young Democratic Party, Lagos Chapter, has advised Nigerian youths to refuse being used by politicians who have mismanaged the resources of the country thus plunged the Nigerian economy into recession and an untold hardship.

In a media chart with newsmen in Lagos, Acting Chairman, YDP Lagos Chapter, Honourable Lucky Aghado, advised the youths to desist from any form of violence in the country that will jeopardise the unity of Nigerian youths or make them see youths in other part of the country as enemies.

Aghado also encouraged young Nigerians to join YDP’s struggle to rescue Nigeria from this dispensation of failed politicians in order to help them take over leadership.

Going by his words, “Youths are the leaders of tomorrow and as such should take over the mantle of leadership from our failed politicians. When this is done however, effective leadership, political overhauling, economic revival and proper restructuring of Nigeria will take place”, he said.

Continuing in his posits, he said that effective leadership is the only key to national development. His words, “Nigerian politicians have not allowed youths to get involved in leadership and this is affecting the potential of Nigerian youths who have been rendered redundant for decades. Imagine the rate of youth unemployment in the country after university education, no job creation by our leaders in the midst of Oil boom before we found ourselves at the level we are today. Leaders should be proactive and work with clear visions.

The agitation for Biafra and Northern youths issuing quit notice to Igbos in Kaduna are indications of failed leadership in the country and YDP is calling Nigerian youths to take a bold step and do something before it is late.

This is the second quarter of 2017 things are still moving at low pace, industries, financial institutions are not employing because cost of operation in Nigeria is high; no power supply, operators generate their own power. As a result of this, our operating environment is not attracting foreign investments and Nigerians who looted the treasury are not investing in the country rather they are enriching foreign economies”.

He said further that YDP is formed to give justice and equity and to promote love and harmony among Nigerians and is positioned to restore Nigeria’s lost glory. It is time to curb the menace of corruption and give Nigeria a new face.
