ASABA—THE remains of a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Board of Trustees, BoT, Mr. Olisaemeka Akamukali,has been laid to rest in his Okpanam country home, Oshimili North Local Government Area, Delta State, amidst tears and eulogies.
The late Akamukali was interred at 12:45p.m. The funeral attracted prominent politicians across political divides from across the country.
Those in attendance include Delta APC 2015 governorship candidate, Olorogun O’Tega Emerhor, Minister of Science and Technology, Chief Ogbonnaya Onu, Minister of Petroleum (State), Dr Ibe Kachukwu, Senator Rabui Kwankwaso, Chief Adolo Okotie-Eboh, Prophet Jones Erhue, Chief Great Ogboru and Olorogun Jaro Egbo.
Others were National Vice Chairman (South South), Mr Hilliard Eta, Mr Emma Eneukwu, Dr Alex Ideh, Mr Akpodiete Edoja, Dr Eugene Okolocha, Chief Emmanuel Ogwuda, Mr Sam Adjogbe, Delta State Commissioner for Information, Mr Patrick Ukah, his Water Resources counterpart, Mr Fidelis Tilije, Chief Frank Kokori, Chief Halims Agoda and Prof. Pat Utomi.
Speaking during the funeral service held at St Michael’s Catholic Church, Okpanam, Olorogun Emerhor described the late Mr Akamukali as a stabilising factor in the APC, adding that he (Akamukali) worked hard for the existing unity and peace in Delta APC.
Saying he was a caucus member of the APC from Delta, Emerhor noted that Akamukali was in the political trenches with him to properly position the party in the state.
He thanked all who came from far and near to pay their last respect to the late Olisaemeka Akamukali, whom he described as a political mathematician.
