PORT HARCOURT—  Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, yesterday, adjourned till July 31, 2017, for judgment in the murder trial of seven  person, who were prosecuted for the murder of four students of the University of Port Harcourt, UNIPORT, in 2012.

Twelve persons were initially charged to court  over their alleged involvement in the killing in December 2012.

But based on an advice by the Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, five of the suspects, including the traditional ruler of Umuokiri, Alhaji Hassan Welewa, were discharged and acquitted on January 27, 2017, while the seven others were denied bail and remanded in prison custody.
