PORT HAR-COURT—  GOVERNOR Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has sacked his Commissioner for Works, Mr Bathuel Harrison, with immediate effect.

This development is contained in a  statement, yesterday, by the media aide on electronics to the governor , Mr Simeon Nwakaudu.

“Rivers State governor, Mr  Nyesom Wike, has relieved  the state Commissioner  for Works, Mr Bathuel Harrison of his appointment with immediate effect.

“The former commissioner has been directed to hand over to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works,” the statement said.

This is the second Commissioner for Works to come under the sledge hammer of the governor since he came on board.

Meantime, Mr Nwakaudu, in his statement, did not give any reason for the sack.
