ASABA—A member of the House of Representatives, Chief Solomon Ahwinawhi, has urged Deltans to remain united and steadfast in their support for Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
Fielding questions from newsmen in Asaba shortly after the second anniversary thanksgiving of the 6th Assembly, Ahwinawhi, who represents Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal constituency in the National Assembly, said that Governor Okowa was performing exceedingly well in the governance of the state.
Noting that people oriented projects were being embarked upon and evenly distributed despite the harsh economic climate, he said that a large number of unemployed Deltans have been trained in skills and given starter packs.
To this end, the federal lawmaker commended the cooperative spirit existing between the various arms of government in the state, acknowledging the place of unity of purpose in the development of any society.
Ahwinawhi attributed the rapid development in the state to stability in the state’s government apparatus, stressing the need for critical stakeholders, especially the legislature, to remain united in providing good governance in the state.
Commending Okowa for his visionary leadership and landmark achievements across the state, he said that the state House of Assembly has lived up to expectation in its constitutional responsibilities.
He also congratulated the new Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Chief Sheriff Oborevwori on his emergence adding that the legislature must continue to work in partnership with other arms of government for the growth of democracy.
