All is set for the annual Power Oil ‘Walkhearton 3.0’ event, a health fitness walk instituted exactly three years ago by Power Oil, to promote a healthy lifestyle and remind Nigerians of the benefits of a daily fitness routine.
Power Oil Walkhearton is a heart awareness project aimed at encouraging everyone to walk at least 30 minutes every day. The initiative mobilises people to walk five kilometres in the targeted states.
This year’s event, themed “Walk for the Heart” is scheduled to take place across five cities in Nigeria including Lagos, Ibadan, Owerri, Port-Harcourt and Abuja with entertainers like MC Bonus, Funnybone, Sound Sultan, Woli Arole, Sanyari , Mr. Raw and Nice on board to add spice to the fitness activities.
Speaking at a media parley to announce preparations for the event, Miss. Omotayo Azeez, Public Relations Manager, Power Oil, said the Healthy Walk would kick off in Lagos on the 8th of July; Enugu and Port Harcourt would hold simultaneously on July 15th, while that of Abuja and Ibadan will simultaneously to conclude the activity on 23rd of July.
She explained that at each location, Power Oil Health Camp will be available to offer free basic medical checks for participants to ascertain their health status, including blood pressure, BMI and general medical consultation.
