lagos—Convener of the Save Nigeria Group, SNG, Pastor Tunde Bakare, yesterday, gave a stern warning against those plotting to topple the President Muhammadu Buhari government vowing to mobilise Nigerians to resist any military intervention.

Speaking on the theme: Birth pangs to a new Nigeria, Pastor Bakare warned those having inordinate ambition of taking power through the back-door, as a result of the ill-health of the President to desist from  such thoughts.

Bakare, who leads the Later Rain Assembly church said: “What Nigeria is going through is not new or strange. We are experiencing a birth pang. Nigeria is in intense labour.”

He accused some unnamed politicians of trying to use the military to topple the Buhari-led government, pronouncing a curse on them.

He said: “Those in the polity, with inordinate ambition to take power by all means, will have themselves to blame. Inordinate ambitions, will kill your children in your lifetime. The actors in the corridors of power can keep trying but residual power is still in the hand of the one that is old. Cautions must be exercised by those in the military testing the water of coup.

‘’All coup plotters, trouble is coming upon your heads, we gave you the uniform, we gave you the guns, why would you use them against us?”

Vowing to lead Nigerians to resist the alleged report coup plot, he said: “Look at what military did to Nigeria. We do not want to hear years of the locust any more. I have said I am no longer marching, but if they dare, I will mobilise forces of this nation against any military incursion in our polity.”

“It is not a threat, it is a promise because they would be taking us back into the woods, pulling the hands of the clocks backwards. Which nation of the world is on the path to rebirth and transformation today talks of the military intervention?

“As horrible as you may think and as bad as Donald Trump is, the military is not threatening him.”

Theresa May had to conduct election immediately when they said – Oh you are just a successor you do not have people’s mandate, whether she had majority or not, she went through election. We should not copy evil things.”

On those wishing the ailing president death, Bakare said; “Who can say who will die first, between the patient in the intensive care unit and the doctor? Only God knows who will die first.

‘’Scenarios and postulations do not work because I know scenarios are also in the mind of the people. Because he is not dead, stop the scenarios and postulations.”
