Katsina bye-election: Sirika’s candidate loses out in APC primaries

Aviation Minister, Hadi Sirika’s candidate, Aliyu  Lawal lost out in the All Progressive Congress, APC primaries to produce candidate to contest for the seat of member representing Mashi/Dutsi Federal Constituency, Katsina State.

Lawal lost out after polling 8 votes against Mansur Ali Mashi, who pulled 288 votes and emerged winner.

APC National official and National Welfare Secretary, Mr. Jobck Alamba supervised and conducted the primary election which took place in Mashi local government secretariat.

Declaring the election results, Mr. Alamba said Mansur Ali Mashi after pulling the highest number of votes is the flag bearer of the party in the bye-election.

He said 584 were the total accredited votes and 12 invalid votes were recorded.

Alamba announced that Mansur Ali Mashi scored 288 votes, Awwal Yamel – 224, Tasiu Doguro – 39, Aliyu Lawal – 8, Hassan Hassan – 2, Saidu Killer – 1 while

About three other candidates score zero votes.

Mansur Ali Mashi is currently the Senior Special Adviser to Governor Aminu Bello Masari on Radio Monitoring.
