— Kylian Mbappe struck twice as Monaco claimed a thrilling 3-2 win in Wednesday’s rescheduled clash.

Police ramped up security in the city as German investigators detained an Islamist suspect over three explosions that rocked Dortmund’s team bus on Tuesday.

— In a game of very few chances, Griezmann proved decisive as it was he who also won the key penalty with a lung-busting run from well inside his own half before being brought down by Marc Albrighton midway through the first half.

— Barcelona’s Champions League bid hit the rocks for the second time on Tuesday and coach Luis Enrique called for another salvage operation after Argentina midfield star Paulo Dybala fired Juventus into a 2-0 lead by the 22nd minute.

Centre-back Giorgio Chiellini, famously bitten by Barca striker Luis Suarez during a tense Italy v Uruguay first round clash at the 2014 World Cup, headed Juve’s third to wrap up a deserved win.

“If we get our act together, we can put four goals past anybody,” said Enrique. “But right now, I’m so angry I don’t even want to think about it.”
