Bauchi—No fewer than 300,000 graduates are mobilised annually for the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, programme in its over 40 years of existence, the Director-General, Brigadier General Suleiman Kazaure, has said.
The NYSC DG spoke at an opening ceremony of the 2017 Batch ‘A’ pre-orientation workshop, entitled Evolving Strategies to Meet the Challenge of Increasing Corps Population in Bauchi.
He said the essence of the workshop was to review the previous orientation course with the intention of indentifying best practices and challenges to chart a way forward in the conduct of the next orientation exercise.
In his address at the occasion, Governor Mohammed Abubakar reiterated the commitment of his administration towards the security of NYSC members serving in the state and assured them of a conducive atmosphere that would make their service year in the state a memorable one.
