Lagos declares zero tolerance for pot-holes

lagos—The Lagos State Government, through the State Public Works Corporation, LSPWC, has  commenced rehabilitation of some deplorable roads, as part of the ongoing “operation fix all potholes” in the state.

General Manager and Special Adviser to the Governor on Lagos State Public Works Corporation, LSPWC Engr. Ayotunde Sodeinde, who made the remarks at the weekend, said the measure became necessary to have a pothole free 2017 raining season.

Nigerian Metrological Agency, NIMET, had predicted heavy rainfall for Lagos State and the attendant consequences, especially on roads, hence, the need to ensure good state of roads.

Sodeinde reiterated the corporation’s commitment to rid all roads across the state of potholes in order to enhance a hitch free vehicular movement.

He stressed that the programme was part of Governor Ambode’s initiative to address the problems of deplorable state of roads in the state.

Sodeinde while cautioning motorists to observe high adherence to safety measures due to the improved state of road across the state, especially as the 2017 rainy season begun, assured that operation fix the potholes would be a continuous exercise which will cover all roads irrespective of it being federal or state road.
