Your wardrobe says a lot about you

Your wardrobe says a lot about you

•An organised male wardrobe

THE theme for this year’s International Women’s Day celebration says “Be Bold For Change.” Being bold for change should not be limited to accelerating gender parity but to also help our young girls and women to be organized from home as everything one becomes in life has roots in who you are from home. Before a woman can be bold to take over the world, such should be well organized as charity begins at home.

Have you ever been frustrated looking for what to wear at any time? Do you sometimes wake up wondering where you kept your underwear or even your jewelry? When your wardrobe is disorganized, you may have to search for everything you need all the time, except you take a step. A disorganized wardrobe does not happen to women only, but to all, and the danger in it is that your children will follow the same step.

•An organised male wardrobe

It is not every time you need something that you should have to look for it. You must have a specific place to keep your things.

There should be space for special wears, church wears, house wears, casual wears, under wears, cream, headgears etc. At times you arrange wardrobe and before you know it, everything is scatter again because you are searching for a particular thing. Why? Everything is lumped together in a place.

If you are struggling to get rid of clothes – then take a few minutes to think of the type of person you are, and who you want to be – what would they wear? If you have clothes that don’t fit the person you are/want to be – then that may be reason enough to declutter.

What do you do?

Empty the wardrobe and select the clothes into different categories.

Special Wears

Casual wears

Native wears with headgears etc

When you know what space you have, you can make decisions about how best to organise your wardrobe, and what would work for you. If you think about space elsewhere may be in another room, you may simply be moving the problem out to that other room and before you know it, it becomes a dumping ground for clothes clutter again.

Always remind yourself not to keep clothes you do not need in the wardrobe or at home. There are other people out there in need of them. So, give out what you do not need. Any clothes in your wardrobe that has not been worn for more than six months except it’s a special occasion wear, should not be in your house, Give space for new things to come in.

Some women love to keep things that are out of fashion, waiting for it to come back into fashion. Just know that chances are that by the time it does come into fashion, either it will not fit you, or your tastes will have changed, or you will simply want to get some new clothes rather than reuse your old ones.

If you are currently losing weight, don’t keep clothes for the day you think you may add weight again. Get rid of the clothes and buy clothes that fit your new outlook.

Bag up all clothes not in use for charity and donate them

Get rid of the bad ones.

When you have finished the sorting and decluttering stages of the process, you can start seeing what you really want to keep much more clearly and then begin to fold the clothes and iron the ones that need ironing. The next step is to arrange accordingly.
