Obaseki to establish welding, fabrication village

BENIN—GOVERNOR Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has disclosed plans by the state government to collaborate with the Nigerian Institute of Welding, NIW, to establish a welding and fabrication village in the state with a view to imparting welding skills on some of the over 40,000 unemployed youths already on the data base of the state government.

GOVERNOR GODWIN OBASEKI 

The governor disclosed this when he received a delegation from NIW, which was on a business visit in the state.

The delegation was led by Dr Solomon Edebiri, a former governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state.

Obaseki said that the state will leverage on its technology and vocational initiatives to create a fabrication village in the state.
