ASABA—THE Divisional Police Officer, DPO, in charge of ‘C’ Division, Asaba, Delta State, SP Valentine Mbalu, is yet to be rescued five days after he was abducted by herdsmen.

Recall that the DPO was taken hostage last Sunday on his way to Asaba from Agbor, between Ekwoma and Umunede, at about 3:45p.m.

A senior police officer told Vanguard that they were still combing the bushes and suspected hideouts of the hoodlums in search of the DPO.

The source, who pleaded anonymity, said the suspected kidnappers, who established contact with the family Monday night, has reduced their ransom to N5 million.

Saying that they initially demanded N20 million on Tuesday night, the source said it came down to N5 million after much bargaining yesterday morning.
