Vice Chancellor of Delta State University, Abraka, Prof. Victor Peretomode, has charged new students of the institution to live up to the ideals of the university which are summed up in the institution’s logo, Knowledge, Character and Service, warning that any student found to be involved in lawlessness and anti-social vices shall be expelled.

Prof. Peretomode gave the charge during the second matriculation ceremony of the College of Physical Education, Mosogar, COPEM, an affiliate of Delta State University, Abraka.

Addressing the new students, the Vice Chancellor, who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academics, Prof. Austin Anigala, affirmed that the university  ‘’does not compromise on excellence and maintenance of high educational standards as the same standards apply to the students in all campuses of the university as well as the affiliate institutions.”

‘’The Delta State University takes exception to lawlessness and anti-social vices like cultism, examination malpractices, and impersonation especially during examination, sexual harassment, religious extremism and so on.

Any student found guilty of any of these vices will definitely face expulsion from the programme. You will complete your programme in this University if only you abstain completely from these vices”, the Vice Chancellor declared, commending the Provost and Staff of the College of Physical Education, Mosogar for perfectly keying into the lofty goal of quality and affordable higher education for deserving students.

The five hundred and forty five (545) students who took the matriculation oath during the ceremony were drawn from five departments of the University with Political Science Education accounting for 171 students; Social Studies Education, 75 students; Business Education, 194 students; Computer Science Education, 75 students; and Human Kinetics and Health Education, 30 students.

The ceremony was attended by Prof. (Mrs) Rose Aziza, DVC, Administration; Prof. Emmanuel Ojeme, Provost, College of Physical Education, Mosogar; Mrs Hope Uduaghan, Registrar, College of Physical Education, Mosogar; Prof. (Mrs) E.J Egunyenga, Chairman, Joint Affiliation Committee, Dr (Mrs) F.N Ugoji, Coordinator, Joint Affiliation Programme and Dr (Mrs) Bridget Kpomah, Director, DELSU, Degree Programme, Mosogar among many others.
