Ogulagha community in Burutu Local Government Area, Delta State, has commended the federal and state governments on the proposed multi-billion dollars Epz project.
Former Public Relations Officer of Ogulagha Kingdom’s youth council, Mr. Ebikeme Abanre, who made the commendation in Warri, also warned that they should be treated as a major stakeholder and not as an impacted community.
According to him: “It is a welcome development as it will create job opportunities for Deltans and Nigerians in general.
“Any attempt to sideline Ogulagha Kingdom will be resisted as the proposed site is situated in Adedegbene and Ologoseimoere which are both in Ogulagha Kingdom.”
He insisted that Ogulagha Kingdom should be fully represented like Ugborodo and Gbaramatu kingdoms in any interface committee that Delta State government wishes to inaugurate on the said project.
saying that “we the ogulagha kingdom will resist any attempt by anybody to treat us like impacted communities as we are not ready to cede any portion of our land to anybody”.
