The Enugu State chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr. Ben Nwoye, has refuted news making the rounds that the immediate past Governor of Enugu state, Sullivan Chime has joined the APC.
Nwoye said if there was such a development, he would be the most competent authority to announce it.
Nwoye who briefed newsmen late Friday evening on the ‘rumour’ said the development was further from the truth.
He said: “Sullivan Chime is not yet a member of APC. The Enugu state chapter of APC is not yet aware of his joining the party. It may have been an error from the publisher of the news. The publisher may have made mistake.
“What is obtained is that the state presents new party members to the world and not the zonal structure of the party as was reported.
“When I receive Chime, I will submit him to the South East zonal structure. We don’t work from up to down, we work from down to up.”
The news of Chime’s defection arose from the South East Publicity Secretary of APC, Hyacinth NgwuAn who on his facebook page announced that the ex-governor had joined the party.
But Chime has since said that he was not yet a member of APC.
