We’ll reflect your views in 2017 budget, Senate assures stakeholders

ABUJA— AHEAD passage of  the 2017 Appropriation Bill, the Senate, Wednesday, assured stakeholders and other Nigerians that their views, comments and submissions would be reflected in the budget.

Speaking at the end of the three-day public hearing on the 2017 Appropriation Bill, Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriations, Senator Danjuma Goje, noted that the submissions made by the stakeholders were very germane, if the current economic challenges in the country, including recession, must be addressed.

He said the committee would write a report from about 44 submissions made by over 60 stakeholders, who attended the public hearing.

Senator Goje said: “The hearing is first of its kind in the National Assembly. The level of excitement and enthusiasm shown, particularly by civil society organisations, is an encouragement to continue with the initiative.”
