The Taraba state local government elections slated for today has started with violent in Ibi the headquarters of Ibi Local Government Area of Taraba state as an official SUV worth over 25 million naira was burnt down by angry youths.

The Commissioner for Commence and Industry Mallam Iliasu whose SUV was torched was accused by the youths of holding meetings with some of the local government stakeholders and alleged plan to rig the local government election.

The Special Assistant to governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba state Hon. Tsua Ibi who is from the area confirm the incident to Vanguard.

He said the SUV was burnt with all the Mobile Phones of the commissioner including other valuable items.
