Rivers police says it is prepared for re-run election

Rivers Police Command says it is prepared for the national Assembly re-run conclusive election scheduled for Saturday in Etche and Omuma local Government Areas.

Mr Nnandi Omoni, a Deputy Superintendent of police (DSP) and spokesman of the command, told newsmen in Port Harcourt on Friday that the command had done necessary deployments.

“ For the conduct of the poll, 3500 regular policemen and 12 units of anti-riot police officers had been deployed for the election by the command.

“ The policemen have been deployed to ensure violence-free and fair election on Saturday in Etche and Omuma local government councils,’’ he said.

Omoni urged stakeholders to assist ensure free and fair election on Saturday.
