Enugu Rangers general manager, Christian Chukwu has dismissed reports linking Nigeria’s U-23 keeper at the Rio 2016 Olympics, Emmanuel Daniel to South Africa’s Orlando Pirates.

Chukwu submitted that the player has not signed for Pirates,   adding   that Daniel was still a Rangers’ player.

This is even as the goal keeper has yet to feature for the club this season. Chuwkwu argued that Daniel is still contracted to the Nigerian Professional Football League champions.

“Emmanuel Daniel is a Rangers player. Rangers are the ones to clear him to Orlando Pirates,” Chukwu told allnigeriasoccer.com.

“As of today, he has a contract with Rangers and we expect Orlando Pirates to open negotiations,” Chukwu concluded.

The 23-year-old shot-stopper was reportedly on his way to Mamelodi Sundowns when news that he had signed for the Buccaneers emerged.

With the Buccaneers having already freed up their foreign spots following the departures of Edwin Gyimah and Felipe Ovono, it remains to be seen as to whether or not Daniel will be the man to take up one of the spots at the start of next season.
