Jos—THE people of Garga in Kanam Local Government Area of Plateau State, have dismissed claims by the member representing Kantana constituency in the state House of Assembly, Mr. Yusuf Gagdi, that Garga district had become an abode for Boko Haram terrorists, and demanded for an apology from the lawmaker.

It will be recalled that following a recent robbery attack on the Divisional Police headquarters in Kanam Local Government Area of the state, Mr. Gagdi alleged that Garga district had become an abode for Boko Haram insurgents.

Reacting, Mr. Gagdi, who is also the Deputy Speaker of the House, told Vanguard on phone: “It is politics and none of those people there voted for me. Responsible people, who know what I did, will also respond at the right time.”

However, the community, speaking through their spokesman, Mr. Ibrahim Bawa, in Jos, said: “Linking Garga District with Sambisa Forest and Yankari Game Reserve epitomises his ignorance of his constituency.

“We plead with him to withdraw all he presented before the respected House of Assembly, linking Garga District with Sambisa Forest.”
