ABUJA—MEMBERS of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, House Caucus, yesterday, hailed Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State for bagging the Apostle of Peace award and other numerous awards that were recently conferred on him.
In the statement entitled: Honour to whom Honour is due, Gov Wike shines again, the PDP caucus noted that various bodies, including the Sun Newspaper, Independent Newspaper, African Leadership, Authority Newspaper and others, bestowed the governor of the year award on Wike.
According to the statement, Wike’s achievements and the new award easily reaffirm PDP’s significance for a future that reflects genuine change in Rivers State and all other parts of the federation.
Also, yesterday in a statement by Media Adviser to Speaker Yakubu Dogara, Turaki Hassan, the Speaker mourned the passage of Mr Bello Sani, representing Mashi/Dutsi federal constituency of Katsina State.
Dogara said he was saddened by the sudden death of Bello whom he described as a hardworking, committed and patriotic legislator.
“Our late colleague was humane, principled and a cosmopolitan, who interacted freely with all members,” the Speaker said.
