Men of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and their sniffer dogs

Lagos—The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos Command, has warned commercial banks, eateries and other private organizations in the state, against illegal security outfit operating within the state.
NSCDC Lagos State commandant, Tajudeen Balogun, who issued the warning after shutting down an illegal security outfit, ATD Global Security Services, in Agbara axis of Lagos State, said that some of the security outfits were not registered by the Federal Government.
The commandant lamented that some of the private firm sited within the state were operating in Lagos without adhering to extant laws by Federal Government on establishment of private security outfits in the country.
Balogun explained that NSCDC was the only body authorized to monitor, supervise and checkmate activities of private guard operations in the country, saying, they must follow the Federal Government directives before setting up such company or risk being shut-down.
He further advice companies to often employ services of registered private guard firm and ensured to confirm if they were operating under the law.
“We will make sure that we intensify our monitoring and supervision of all beats manned by private guards companies to ensure that they are operating optimally and punish the illegal ones” he added.
