THE chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Akwa Ibom State, Dr. Amadu Attai, has refuted claims that the party in the state is in turmoil.
Attai, who said this during a press conference in Uyo on Friday, regretted that there had been series of blackmails about unimagined crisis in the party to deceive members of the public.
He stated that the expelled member of the party and 2015 former governorship aspirant of the party, Senator John Akpanudoedeghe, had been the brain behind the propaganda.
The party had on January 23, 2017, expelled Akpanudoedeghe, who was also a former Minister of State for Federal Capital Territory.
He said, “We are also aware that those darting these chain of vicious attacks and cheap blackmail are employed by and are doing the bidding of Sen. John James Akpanudoedeghe with the sole purpose of ridiculing and hurting the image of our party in the state in the forlorn hope that this will be to the advantage of the Peoples’ Democratic Party government in the 2019 governorship election.
