LOKOJA—STUDENTS of higher institutions in Kogi State, yesterday, dissociated themselves from an alleged planned protest against the state and Federal Governments across the state.

This came as they pleaded with lecturers of tertiary institutions in the state and government to resolve their differences for academic activities to resume.

Speaking in Lokoja on the platform of the Joint Campus Committee, JCC, the spokesperson of the JCC of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, Chris Audam, said they had met with the state government over the state of education.

Audam said there was the need for lecturers and government to reach a compromise.

According to him, the ongoing strike by the unions in the educational sector had continued to adversely affect the overall education and welfare of students of the state.
