IN their bid to equip information technology experts with leadership skills, Citygate Institute of Innovation and Technology, Ibadan, and Campbellsville University, USA, are offering young Nigerians the opportunity to participate in a coding dojo bootcamp in Campbellsville varsity, USA.
Revealing this at a media briefing in Lagos, the Rector, Citygate Institute, Oluwafolajimi Fadenipo, whose institution has been appointed country representative to manage affairs of Campbellsville varsity in Nigeria, said the bootcamp is a structured programme aimed at grooming professionals that would change the lot of Nigeria.
He said “The coding dojo is an intensive ten weeks professional training programme aimed at upgrading the skills of IT people who are technically qualified but lack leadership skills. After the bootcamp, they can decide to either get a Masters degree from the varsity or come back home to start their businesses.
“This rare opportunity will enable them manage their business and employees because it would get to a point where those who are only skilled at coding would retire like footballers while those who upped their coding and leadership skill remain relevant.”
