Minna—The Federal University of Technolo-gy, Minna, Niger State, has been ranked among the 100 best universities in Africa.
The Vice Chancellor of the institution established by the Babangida administration 34 years ago, Professor Musbau Akanji, at a briefing to commemorate the anniversary and its 26th convocation holding today, said the rating was from over 2,000 univer-sities across the continent.
The VC, however, said that despite the impressive rating, the university will not relent in its efforts to improve on its standard academically, especially in research, in order to rank higher nationally and internationally.
Professor Akanji said 3,734 students would receive first degrees, masters and doctorate as well as diplomas today, adding that the original certifi-cates of all graduating students will be ready for immediate collection after the ceremony.
