A former chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State,  Chief Johnbull Efeoviri, IN Ethiope East Local Government Area of the state, has defected to All Progressives Conggress, APC with his followers.

Chief Efeoviri, who decamped from the PDP alongside his followers, was received by the APC Ethiope East council chairman, Pastor Stephen Eruotor, APC Kokori Ward 7 Chairman, Chief Jerome Emmanuel and other members of the party in Kokori.

Efeoviri, who spoke after he was handed his APC membership card and the symbolic broom of the party, said he was done with PDP because the party has nothing to offer the people, adding that APC is the only party that can lead Delta State out of the current economic quagmire.


Efeoviri said: ‘’I decided to leave PDP because I was marginalized. I am a leader in ward 6 and I worked for PDP for eight years. I left and I came back again and during our congress, we, the four prominent members of the PDP, voted for a particular candidate, but to our surprise, our candidate did not win the election.’’

On his part, Pastor Oruotor who received Chief Efeoviri and his followers into the APC fold, said that with the defection of Efeoviri, APC WAs sure to win the 2019 elections  come 2019.

Those who witnessed the defection include Chief Obukohwo Oshevire, former Delta State House of Assembly member representing Ethiope East Constituency, Chief Julius Ogboru, Alexander Imara, Prince Charles Ikpama and other chieftains of the party from Kokori.
